How open do we want our wiki to be?
"On the one hand, the wiki is nice as a way to keep personal data, like phone numbers, or to air grievances we would not knowingly share with the outside world. On the other hand, the wiki can be a great way to let potential members who have been here to be told about the wiki learn all kinds of things about the inner workings of the house, without us having to drown them in detail. I personally lean to having a wiki which is openly viewable to outsiders, but not having it show up on Google searches, and not having it be editable by non-members."
Below are some policy pages on Wikipedia relating to how editing conflicts are dealt with:

I kind of liked it that the wiki was only visible from inside the house. We could restore that behavior by adding a rule to the webserver config.... - TripleEntendre
