The Associate Membership Contract states:

"3. MEMBERSHIP FEE AND DEPOSIT: The Associate agrees to pay a one time non-refundable membership fee of $50.00. The Associate will pay a refundable deposit equal to one month's payment to CHEA when signing this contract. CHEA may use the deposit for any and all purposes."

"9. FACILITIES: CHEA agrees to allow associate the use of any facilities that are enjoyed by the residents of the house while associate is on CHEA property. This includes use of laundry, bathing, non-consumable kitchen, and grounds equipment and facilities."


House Rules

1. Section 3.4.2 of the HouseRules states: "Associate: A contract for a specified period of time that allows a member to eat a number of agreed upon meals a week. Associate members pay $80 a month and complete 2 lumps of labor per week and have full access to house resources.

Associate Member Rent Payment Policies

1. Associate members are allowed to owe up to $20 without penalty.

2. Associate members receive $5 late fees for owing more than $20 after the 7th and 15th of the month. Associates owing more than $20 after the 15th will receive a termination notice. House policies can be followed to appeal the termination or pay off the balance in order to negate the termination.

3. Associate members must pay a deposit of one month's payment. (From the House Rules 3.4.2.C: "Contracts shall have a deposit of one month's payment.")

4. Associate members may not get on a payment plan.

5. Associate members pay $80 a month and complete 2 lumps of labor per week and have full access to house resources. (house vote 3-29-15)


Associate Member Guidelines

1. Sleeping over: a. Associate members may not camp on the grounds.

2. No squatting: a. Associate members must have their own place to stay. People who are camping, sleeping in their car or RV, sleeping at a friend's house, or otherwise do not have their own place to stay, may not be associate members.

3. Associate members who have lost their place to stay: a. If a current associate member loses their place to stay, they have a one week grace period to find their own place to stay. If they do not find their own place to stay, they may be membership reviewed.

4. Storing property on the grounds: a. Associate members may not store or leave belongings on the property.

House Votes Change the language of the associate member contract to read, "8. MEALS: CHEA agrees to provide [blank] meals per week to the associate. (A meal is defined as any meal-sized portion of food, whether it be prepared food, leftovers, unprepared food from the fridge or pantry, or any and all food purchased by the house.)" (Voted on by the house, 9/13/09).

Associate members do 2 lumps of labor per week. (Voted on by the house, 9/13/09).
